Hello July,
I’ve waited patiently for your arrival and my only regret is the end of our friend June.
Ok, so a few thoughts about my recent stop at my new apartment. First I’d be amiss if I didn’t mention how good it felt to sleep in a real bed, especially sleeping the night through even during rainstorms. Pregnant raindrops slamming onto the roof of the as yet nameless van produce rattling and resounding slams on the eardrums of my, er well esardrums.
Second: It’s amazing how quickly my lazy mind grabbed hold of the television. I enjoy real crime shows such as The First 48; I’m hooked on the newish Showtime series ‘Californication;’ and then of course there’s Fox Sports Detroit which shows nearly every Tigers game and yes it’s my duty to watch them all and yell at the umps from the safety of my couch.
Third: I read and wrote more at home than I have while on the road, including poetry. I also started upon my quest to read Vonnegut’s collection of books and short stories in order of publication dates.
Fourth: Libraries really are amazing community resources.
Just a jolt of back home. peace
